England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
