Real Madrid's Alexander-Arnold May Return to Face His Former Club in November's European Match
The Spanish giants signed Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term agreement
The defender's comeback is progressing according to plan, raising a chance that the Real Madrid defender could return soon enough to play against his previous club Liverpool in November's European encounter.
The 27-year-old player suffered a muscle injury while playing against French side Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on September 16.
Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the fifth minute, with initial indications suggesting a possible absence of up to six weeks.
Real Madrid are scheduled to face Liverpool on November 4 for the European fixture—precisely over a month since the injury occurred.
Reports close to the player's condition state that the player's comeback is moving along favorably, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his first appearance to Anfield since joining Real Madrid in June.
A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously said that departing from the club he joined as a six-year-old academy talent was the "hardest decision he has ever taken."
During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 appearances, helping secure multiple Premier League championships, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.
After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in all competitions, logging 156 minutes of action.
