LA Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Victory
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player stated through an translator.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses
Celebrations started well before the parade, with supporters setting off fireworks in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the victory.

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.
The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year showed equal or greater support.
“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
