Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
